Moray Waste Busters started in 2001 as a project promoting home composting and we have developed over the years to become a well-established local amenity.  Our reuse-reclaim facility (“The Works”) is very popular with members of the local community and those further afield.  We take in donations of most household goods apart from clothing or electrical items.  These are sold to the public at a reasonable price and the money is used to continue our work in promoting awareness of green issues.

We produce a range of woodwork items such as bird boxes and dog kennels made from recycled timber and we also offer training opportunities for disadvantaged young adults.

Our aim is to encourage waste minimisation and we work closely with The Moray Council to help them reach their recycling targets.  An important part of this work involves taking the message to schools and other interested groups.  We have hosted many school visits to our site over the past few years and are currently developing a new programme to keep the children interested.

Our Waterford site is undergoing a major overhaul to provide bigger and better facilities which will enable us to keep spreading the “3R’s” message for years to come.
