ReBOOT, based in Forres, was the first computer recycling project in the North of Scotland, set up by Moray Voluntary Organisation (MVSO) in 1997. Since 1997 we have been selling high quality, low-price refurbished computer systems to our customer's specifications.
We continue to provide a recycling service to communities and aim to significantly reduce IT waste by refurbishing used equipment, allowing it to be reused, where possible. Any computer equipment that cannot be refurbished is disassembled to component level and recycled in accordance with current SEPA regulations. ReBOOT is registered with the Scottish Environmental Agency (SEPA) as an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) and holds a Waste Transport Licence and Exemptions for Activity Schedule 3, Para 47 for 'Repair and/or Refurbishment of WEEE' and Para 48 for 'The Storage of WEEE pending recovery elsewhere'. ReBOOT is coordinated by a small staff and has a team of dedicated volunteers as its workforce who offer their time, skills and expertise to further benefit the community. The charity is overseen by a board of directors, primarily responsible for development and direction. A number of these directors also play an active role in the day-to-day operation of ReBOOT.
