Outf!t-Moray Outf!t-Moray provides opportunities for learning and development through outdoor education and adventure activities for young people in Moray with a strong focus on working with 11-25 year olds during transitional periods or where they are experiencing difficulty in their lives. Outf!t-Moray is a Limited Company with Charitable status and has a Board of 5 Directors drawn from our membership. We have been operating since 2003 and have worked with over 3,500 different young people and 52 different establishments and organisations in Moray. We have run over 400 different programmes ranging from one off events to long term work involving1,500 sessions of activity. Our overarching aim is to: Make a difference to the lives of young people in Moray, enabling them to become positive contributors to their community. We have 5 separate strands to our organisation: Outf!t-EnerG (The main focus of our work) – Our programme for young people with challenging behaviour or who are socially disadvantaged or socially unskilled or who have difficulties in their lives. The aims are to: • Promote positive behaviour through guided support, setting boundaries and acting as ‘role models’. • Provide a structured approach to positive risk taking with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment. • Increase self esteem of young people • Improve young people’s communication skills • Increase young people’s awareness of responsibility • Improve young peoples’ ability to work with others in a team • Improve young peoples’ educational engagement Outf!t-Activ8 – Our programme is open to any young person out of school hours and occasionally as part of a school curriculum programme. The aims are the same as EnerG but we also seek to: • Promote healthy lifestyles by encourage young people to participate in physical activity Outf!t-Innov8 – Our Volunteer and Community Regeneration Strand aims to: Increase local skills and capacity to provide outdoor education in Moray. Outf!t-Gener8 To offer outdoor experiences in a commercial capacity to generate funds for the charitable activities of Outfit. Our Environmental Education programme is integrated into our main stream strands and activities and aims to: Encourage young people to engage with environment.
