Aims, Activities and History Communication & Action’s approach is to work in partnership with community and voluntary groups, individuals and not for profit organisations. Our role in the partnership is to help them to empower themselves in what they are trying to achieve:
As an Industrial and Provident Society for the Benefit of the Community, Communication & Action is a membership organisation. Currently there are four members and that is likely to grow in number. At the moment is more likely to work in partnership with other organisations. Members of Communication & Action believe that community plays a vital part in people's sense of wellbeing. For us, successful communities are ones in which people are able to play an active part and have some influence over what is happening to them. For us being empowered is having and using the skills that enable one to talk and listen to others in ways that make it easier to understand each others’ needs in a situation and to be able to agree and take action that will meet those needs.
Products and Services We run tailor-made learning programmes for community groups and organisations to support people in the following themes.
