Third Sector Internships – ACT NOW!

    • The TSIS project aims to support paid internships in the third sector to enable current students studying at all Scottish universities to get the opportunity to use their existing skills and experience plus gain invaluable learning and development. The third sector organisation benefits through having access to a pool of talented students to carry out a specific piece of work/project that adds value to the organisation. The TSIS project pays the salary costs of the intern, so there is no cost to the organisation hosting the internship.
    • The internship must be a specific piece of work/project, rather than a student joining the organisation in a general role and there must be clear learning and development involved for the student. The duration of the internship will be very much dictated by the piece of work/project, however the maximum hours they can fund is 350. The website will give examples of the types of internships they have had to date and give you an idea of the duration and attendance patterns.
    • The organisation providing the internship enters into an employer/employee relationship with the intern and as such provides a contract of employment and pays the intern via their payroll
    • Currently seeking internship opportunities, full time and part time, for summer 2012.
    • Opportunities will be advertised in February/March and you will need to start the process of developing the job description for opportunities from now.
