Funding for fishing communities

The Scottish Government has released further details of funding that will soon be available to fishing communities through Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs).
The funding comes from the European Fisheries Fund and councils will need to co-finance projects in order to access the money.  A network of 12 FLAGs will be created, in a similar manner to LEADER funding.  Communities can apply to the FLAGs for funding for a range of projects, including those relating to tourism, food and drink, renewable energy, training and environmental protection.

You can read more about the funding in the Scottish Government press release.
